The Laboratory of New Technologies in Communication, Education and the Mass Media of the University of Athens, participates in the educational partnership entitled “ICT, Sustainable Development and Ecocitizenship” within the framework of the GRUNDTVIG Lifelong Learning Programme. This partnership consists of professors and researchers from the following institutions and laboratories: Cemic-GRESIC (France, coordinator), Centro de Investigação para Tecnologias Interactivas (Portugal), CREATIC (Belgium), XIV Istituto Comprensivo «K. Woytjla»- Centro territoriale Permanente (Italy), Asociación Cultural Zona Sur-Puente Duero (Spain) and INSYTE - WIT Information Systems and Technoculture research group, Waterford Institute of Technology (Ireland).

As part of this action, every partner has undertaken the study of a National Park of its own country aiming at the evaluation of the use of ICT for the promotion of the Park’s work as well as the raise of awareness of the public on issues regarding the protection of the natural environment. The Laboratory of New Technologies has selected the National Marine Park of Zakynthos as the object of its study, and this is where the next coordination meeting is going to take place between the 6th and 8th of July 2011.

Project Coordinator:
Professor Michael Meimaris, Director of the Laboratory of New Technologies in Communication, Education and the Mass Media
